Sulphur Aeon are a German trio heavily inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. Specialising in abrasive death metal, their debut, Swallowed By The Ocean’s Tide, is startling in it’s precision. It’s huge, it’s relentless, it’s satisfying in all the right ways.

Swallowed By The Ocean’s Tide doesn’t reinvent the death metal wheel, but there’s more than enough energy and quality to keep the attention through the album’s 45 minutes. Sulphur Aeon has created a startling debut, one that should propel them to the head of the extreme metal in 2013.
