CD Review: The Advent Equation – Limitless Life Reflection

106492282491227118773251475Hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, The Advent Equation have just self-released their debut album, Limitless Life Reflection. Purveyors or Progressive Death metal, there’s plenty of long songs, big rolling riffs, and switching between clean and growled vocals.

There’s plenty of contrast between the songs, lots of winding transitions, and lots of big Gojira-like shredding. Though sometimes it’s all a little bit too reminiscent of Opeth, and the over-kill with the piano can grate, on the whole this is a very enjoyable record.
